Adventure. Little a drone conversion, as treat. Point-and-click adventure goodness, involving several robots, at least some of which are very kissable.

Made for Strawberry Jam 7. If you encounter issues with the newer versions, download one of the jam versions - these are known to work (but have minor problems.)

[ CORE FEATURES ]

  • Point and click action
  • Lots of reading
  • Combat robots, digital pets, and scientists with very nice tails
  • Worldbuilding!
  • Insights into the ways the digital transformation affects the business world

[ ABOUT ]

It's long after the robot apocalypse. (Don't worry if you didn't play the prequel, it just adds some background context.)

Now, "the apocalypse" sounds dangerous. It was the end of the world as we knew it, but it turns out they're actually kind of cool. There's not all that much to do anymore, though - drones do all the tedious jobs now, and you can only spend so much time relaxing at home.

So, when the opportunity arose to go on a mysterious away mission, you jumped at the chance. They, uh, didn't really explain what you were supposed to do? But surely you'll be briefed as soon as you get to the island. And then it'll be smooooooth saaaaailing.

[ CONTENT NOTE ]

While the actual content in this game is relatively tame, it was still made in a horny spirit. So, please, 18+ only. There are no overly lewd sounds or visuals, but it does lean into some robot/drone fetish space stuff. That means mind control, objectification and dom/sub content are all touched upon.

The game does have some darker aspects. There are discussions and credible threats of violence. Everyone involved is fine in the end, but please, be aware of that.

There are story branches that involve robot-on-robot violence, reality deviation and de-realisation. They are clearly signposted and can be avoided, however.

[ INSTRUCTIONS ]

Before you start the game, please look at the settings (accessible from the main menu).

  • Here you can toggle fullscreen mode, change volume,
  • and (en-/dis-)able some compatibility features.

The whole game is controlled via mouse (or touchscreen). You literally just need the mouse and the LEFT-CLICK button (or your touch interface.)

  • To walk, LEFT-CLICK anywhere (or touch there.)
  • To interact with a person or object, LEFT-CLICK on them, then choose the appropriate action from the menu that pops up.
  • To see all interactable objects on the current screen, open the right-hand menu (LEFT-CLICK or TOUCH the MENU BUTTON), then click on the lightbulb icon.
  • Rooms scroll automatically. The camera always follows the player.

You can open the menu with the MENU BUTTON in the top right.

  • To change settings, save or load your game, use the PAUSE MENU (first button).
  • To highlight all hotspots on the current screen, use the LIGHTBULB ICON (second button).
  • To review your notes, look at the map, or check your character's status, use the SMARTPHONE ICON (third button).

If you encounter a bug, your best shot at fixing it is to QUIT TO MENU, then load the most recent SAVEGAME (or auto-save). That should get you out of most situations. You may have to close the game first. Sorry in advance.

[ HELP ]

If you're stuck at the part with the forest, here's the solution to the puzzle (... such as it is.) Go to https://rot13.com/ to decipher this.

I've probably played this game, in parts or in whole, over fifteen times. I love it! One oddity I've noticed: If you have the context buttons up, you can't click on any other interactables at all. You must first click a non-interactive area to make the context buttons go away before you can interact with a new interactable.

The following critique is just my autistic brain digesting every tiny scrap and crumb that it can hoover up, so please don't take any of it negatively!

My greatest regret in life is that I cannot snuggle the [science twink] but I GUESS that becoming the [science twink] is a decent consolation prize.

It feels like the IRL "path" is the most canon, since it has more writing supporting the plot and because the Adjutant scene, to me, feels the most reasonable with that path. I wonder how true that is? After all, the SKY clan drone path doesn't really have you even talk to them.

Though the "spend your night" scenes (I picked Émile but not Aubrey, so if that is actually different, I apologize. Probably the only variation I haven't yet seen!) all do a good job of touching on the major themes; housing unusual people (and a small callback to Reset Day!), the space program subplot, being a [good drone]. Again, it seems like the "IRL path" with Dr. Xlookup (not forgiving you for not letting me KISS them!!) is still the ' 'most canon' ' since it has the most logical impact on plot.

I do like the way that all of the different drone choices influence the last scene(s). Like the specific differences, not just that there are differences, haha.

I dunno how to wrap this up. But I really like the IRL branch of the utilikin. I hope that I make a good [science twink].

Edit: I wasn't into drone content, despite having seen a lot. Now that you've fixed that, I'm blaming you for that too. 😈

(+1)

Thank you! I always love hearing from people who enjoy these little games, especially if it helps them become good drones. I'm willing to accept blame for that, haha. <3

I wouldn't say the science twink ending is more canon as such, but it does admittedly tie in with the core plot a little better. (And I do have to admit those are low-key my favourites as well. ⚗️)

This is because of a last-minute rewrite - there was originally going to be a bit more reactivity in the bunker, with the three different types of drones getting multiple unique scenes, but this didn't quite work out the way I wanted to. So I ended up building the ending around the scenes I was happiest with, and those scenes were indeed taken from the IRL path. (The other branches were originally going to be about rallying the people into overthrowing the villain, and more direct confrontation, respectively.)

Definitely something I'm gonna have to get back to in another game, the lack of robot kissability is a big oversight!

(+1)

Thank you for the behind-the-scenes insight! I'm glad that I was perceptive enough to pick up on some of that. Since I posted this I have very much become a good drone and can't get enough of Utilikin content. I've introduced quite a few of my friends to the series and their drones. Being a good drone also had an interesting impact on my life, but the details of that are a little too personal to share in a public comment. All in all, I'm immensely thankful for the world and mindspace you've shared in your games! I eagerly await the release of the next, and meeting Regular Horse and the lads, among others. 🧡

"From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh..." :)

Curious setting, would be interesting to see more pieces in it.

(+3)

Can't express how strongly this game and its prequel hit for me. Just something about it made me smile and filled me with some kind of hope for things. Whether or not you continue making games, Kaye, I hope you keep trucking. Because you hecking rock.

(+1)

Loved this little game! Very cute and fun~ Thanks for making it!

(2 edits) (+2)

its  good and cozy! some how i lucked my way through the forest puzzle by just guessing lol

also new kink unlocked???

I think I'm too stupid to figure out the forest puzzle...

(1 edit) (+1)

Nvm. Just had to figure out the exact pixel I needed to click on the lightbulb button on desktop.
Edit 1) Left sliver of the icon, btw.

Yeah, sorry about that one. I've been meaning to circle back and fix some issues (and add a way to skip the maze) for a while now. This finally pushed me to actually put a release together, so thanks for the comment, haha.

Oh my, I didn't think my little venting comment would have such an impact. Sorry if it came off as a little... rude. The game itself is very nice, btw. Very well put-together and the story was bite-sized and sweet all the way through.

(+1)

Not rude at all, don't worry! You're far from the first person to mention it, haha. Glad you enjoyed the game, thanks for checking it out.

(1 edit) (+1)

I decided to play the prequel and this because the artstyle looked pretty neat and damn I wish they were both longer. I'm pretty invested in the story even if some concepts in it are a little odd to me I found these two small games did it in a way that didn't directly weird me out, the drones are pretty cool and god damn do the SKY drones look cool. Wish the games were longer! But alas time is an annoying thing.

(+1)

What a fun little drone game

(+3)

Really fun and cute little game!!  Glad I found it and gave it a play :3

(+4)

I loved playing through this game, it's rare to see a game that does drone conversion this way but it ended up being oddly wholesome in a few ways (even though I ended up picking SKY) and I really liked being able to be a good drone. Can't wait to see more!

Spaaaaaaaaaaaace!

(+2)

I don't know if you can see ratings or not so I wanna say stuff here, too. I loved this game as well as the games before it! The concept is super neat and I heckin love playing as a drone uwu The story is also good!

(1 edit) (+1)

Hey there! I can see them, but they're not otherwise publicly visible, so a comment is always appreciated too. Thank you for the kind words!

(+2)

I must say that I enjoyed being a CAT,

(+1)

this was fun to play, cant wait for future updates on the next project :D

(+3)

I love the drone series of games, these make me feel really good, I am always looking forward to more of them~

(+2)

Rei wants me to tell you that you can just use her name instead of calling her out so explicitly with that content warning at the start.

(+5)

This game gave many happy drone feels, thank you so much for making it <333

(+1)

honestly a fantastic game and im sad it was cut short due to time constraints, ill be looking forward to future projects and if you wanna have a conversation add me on disc "  gbeast.  " (with the period no numbers

(+2)

Very fun point and click game with lots of charming dialogue. I find it funny how even though this was made for the strawberry jam, the concept is one that genuinely horrifies me. Looking forward to what you'll do next!

Strawberry Jam is interesting like that. Things can be very appealing to some people, and very much not appealing to others.

Thanks for checking it out, even if the concept isn't for you!

(+4)

I would love to play a entire franchise based on this game's ideas and lore. (I love Sky)

(+4)

Thank you! I have some vague ideas about a larger franchise, I hope to have some rough outline together sometime this summer.

(+2)

this was really fun I love the path I picked as it was very cute.

(+1)

also if you get a discord I would love to join it, my discord is Djmc216#0286.

Hey, thank you so much! There currently isn't a Discord but if I set one up in the future I'll let you know.

(+3)

I love the references and how they are pulled, the game is great!

(3 edits) (+1)

Is there a guide for multiple outcomes in each path or interaction? such as how to get humanity to 0%? I seem to only get it down to 30% I hope you release more games with robot or drone conversion, this was fun.

(+2)

Hey there! I'm glad you enjoyed it, hah. There currently isn't a way to get humanity below 30% - I was going to implement a few smaller interactions that lose or gain you 5% or so, but ran out of time in the jam. So you didn't miss anything, don't worry.

(1 edit) (+1)

Currently? Does that mean you have plans to expand on this game or make a similar drone conversion game with more content in the future?

(+4)

Possibly, yeah!  I have some vague ideas for future plans. I'm planning to write a post-mortem sometime later this month (or possibly next month), by then I should have some more concrete plans.

(+2)

Well I hope it has drone conversion like this or some other transformation. You other two games I played were great too, I really enjoyed them.

(+1)

It’s even cool that humanity remained in the character, even though he went through complete robotization, because humanity remained in him as a moral system and his past. This is more important than biological humanity. Utilikins also have humanity, as I learned from all three games (maybe I understood wrongly, I'm sorry), but they went about it in a different way.

(+5)

Always great to see a new addition to this series, with every new game it gets better and better.  I love how this one is even sorta a remake of the original transubstantiation synthesis even including the character creation being a sort of application form within the story. I also love how the dronification is taken in a almost wholesome way within this series, or at least it is fully thought through and is taken to it's logical conclusion. One thing I think could be improved is the interaction system tho, it is kind of annoying to go down to the bottom of the screen every time you wanna interact with something and I also had a little confusion with how to stop interacting with something so a cancel button could be nice. But still this series is amazing and I hope to see more in the future. :)

(5 edits) (+1)

The forest maze is kinda confusing, what do I need to look out for to get the lay of the land?

(Edit 1) Nvm I forgor about the glasses highlight option via the lightbulb button.

(Edit 2) I made 4 saves and the 4th save is not showing on the save screen ui, I can't access the save at all once I made it.

(Edit 3) Turns out the 4th save replaces the 3rd save, somehow.

(+1)

I'm so glad there's another of these, I love them so much.

(+5)

Great game makes me want to be a good drone

I can't find what the system calls "Business Drone" and can only fool around in the first level 💀

Hey there, sorry to hear you're having trouble! With "Business Drone" the game means the tie-wearing robot at the far left end of the room. Click on it to pop up the interaction bar, then click on "Interact," then ask it about the "job interview."

There's also another problem where I could interact with the bots but nothing happens. Is this a known bug or its just a device problem.

It's a bug that happens in some versions of the game, yeah. It's something I'll have to fix after the jam.

It happens specifically in the mobile version in some browsers. If you want to play it on your phone I recommend using Chrome.

(+1)

The Android version  but it's hard to interact with everything overall really enjoyable though

(+3)

These games are my favorite games ever.

(+5)

A very good game, really makes you feel like a good drone. Hope to see more from the dev and hope we get some options to love other drones in future games.

(+4)

I love this series of games so much! The character interactions here are just so fun, the story is simple but enjoyable, and the art is really nice as well! The whole thing is short and sweet, and the choice the game gives you is cool, too.

The game also give me lots of gender(?) euphoria, same as Reset Day, which just makes me like it even more. Thank you for making these!

(+3)

Loved this <3 my only complaint is that I can’t express a relationship interest in the drones, only the humans!

(+1)

pretty good, encountered no issues, invested somewhat in  the story
