Maintenance release: v1.1 is out now


Hey friends! Once again, I'd like to thank everyone for checking out this game. The response has been truly humbling, and I'm glad you like these weird little critters as much as I do.

I'm currently working on a longer article about the game, and potential future plans for the setting. There'll be a separate update for that. In the meantime, I've gotten some bug reports, which I wanted to address first. Here's the patch notes for version 1.1:

[ CHANGED ]

  • The game has been recompiled in Godot 3.4.3.
  • The squeaky door sound is now 10% less ear-splitting.
  • Asset files have been consolidated and cleaned up. This reduces the filesize a bit.

[ FIXED ]

  • There is no longer an edge case that sometimes allows you to trigger multiple hotspot interactions at the same time.
  • It's no longer possible to perform game actions while switching between scenes. There was previously a one-second window where you could do that, which could lead to things like spawning dialogue windows in the wrong room.
  • Voice volume is no longer about 10% higher than it's supposed to be according to user settings.
  • Corrected a hotspot misalignment in the outro chapter.

[ KNOWN ISSUES ]

  • The game behaves weirdly around multi-screen scenes. Symptoms include interactions being unexpectedly disabled, or animations firing when they shouldn't. If you encounter this problem, saving + loading the game should fix things.
  • Savegames in the web version usually don't carry across sessions.
